Movement Unchained Workshop

Friday, July 17 2020 3 PM to 7 PM

As movement professionals it’s easy to get stuck teaching certain exercises that our clients follow obediently. This is a great way to convey and learn a basic movement vocabulary, but what happens after those movement skills are already developed?

Are the same exercise patterns the best way to keep growing?

The truth is that once you’ve already learned something, repeating it won’t make it improve.

In this introductory workshop, instead of planned exercises we will explore task-oriented movement. Using tactical games, improvisation and partnering, you will discover different ways of using your body to solve a problem. Unchain the movement inside you and get yourself ready to expand your movement boundaries.

The workshop consists 4 different sessions:

  • Coordination drills
  • Rolling
  • Floorwork
  • Partnering Games

What People Are Saying...

I benefited greatly from the deliberateness of the pace

Juan gave such excellent information and explanations on safe movement for low back pain clients.  I tweaked my back yesterday and attended this workshop--so glad I did. I benefited greatly from the deliberateness of the pace and the moves.  So often we just want to power through our workouts, but when your back is really hurting it is so important to slow down and pay attention to the fundamentals of movement. Thank you Juan!!!!
